Expert Recommendation
Medical Doctor & Board-Certified Dermatologist
Dr. Robyn Gmyrek
"Silk’n has been a leader in at-home IPL laser hair removal for years, and I highly recommend their Silk’n 7 and Infinity Fast IPL devices. These are the only devices on the market that combine galvanic energy with IPL technology, enhancing light penetration into the follicle for even better results."
Innovative eHPL™-Technology: IPL but better
While most at-home hair removal devices use IPL, relying solely on optical energy to target hair follicles, Infinity Fast takes it a step further. It combines optical and galvanic energy, a patented technology that we called eHPL™ (enhanced home pulsed light).
How does it work?
- The built-in sensor detects your skin color and if it's suitable.
- The galvanic energy opens the skin pores, allowing the optical energy to penetrate deeper into the hair follicle.
- The optical light energy is drawn to pigment in the hair, it penetrates into the hair shaft and targets the root, disabling regrowth.
Gentle approach, great results
While other treatments risk irritation, burns, or blisters, Infinity Fast uses advanced eHPL™ technology to safely and comfortably smooth your skin. It delivers faster and painless hair removal—even for men with thick body hair or anyone dealing with stubborn ingrown hairs.
*Please note that:
- IPL treatments are not suitable for dark skin or white, gray, or very light body hair.
- IPL hair removal may be effective on red or blonde hair with some pigment but is not suitable for very light shades of these colors, as they lack the melanin needed to absorb the light effectively.
- The automatic skin tone sensor determines the optimal energy level for your skin, as shown in the chart above.
If you want more information, we advise you to consult the manual or to contact us by chat, mail or phone.
How to use the device?
*With Silk'n Infinity Fast you have the possibility to pulse or glide.
- Pulsing is ideal for targeting specific spots or smaller areas. Press the device to your skin, move in rows, and pulse spot by spot until the area is covered.
- Gliding is great for fast hair removal on large areas like legs, arms, and back. Hold the device firmly against your skin and slowly glide it, keeping constant contact. At lower energy levels, it flashes every 1–1.5 seconds for fast, continuous treatment.
What to expect?
Your IPL hair removal timeline
Advice from our Product Specialists: "Consistency is key!"
Many users expect instant results, but real improvements take time. Reality is it doesn’t work in just a week time. Hair removal works with your natural growth cycle, and customer feedback shows that the best results become visible around the three-month mark. This timing aligns perfectly with how your skin and hair regenerate.
"Put in the effort, stay patient, and you’ll see the difference. It’ll be worth it." - Cheryl, Product Specialist at Silk'n -
How to Maximize Your Results
- Better one too many than one too few: We suggest a treatment every 2 weeks but hair growth differs for each individual. If no or slow progression is being made, try treating 2 or 3 times per week.
- Stay consistent: Hair follicles go through three phases: anagen (growth), catagen (transition), and telogen (resting). The anagen phase is the only stage where treatments can deliver permanent results. Since you can't see which phase your follicles are in, consistent use is key.
- Applying moisturizers after treatment helps you achieve the baby-smooth skin people love about our results.
If you’re not seeing results, we’re here to help. Our customer service team can guide you on optimizing your treatment plan (live chat widget, email or call.)
Additionally, we offer warranty extensions and a 60-day money-back guarantee to give you confidence in your purchase.
Want to level-up your IPL treatments?
Check out our premium IPL device, the Silk’n 7—same advanced technology, but with even faster treatment times and more convenience:
- 3 different treatment surfaces, including the largest on the market
- 360° rotatable head
- Handle with integrated pulse button
- Includes a separate razor for pre-treatment and a 3-meter extension cord
Why is the device called "Fast"?
Infinity Fast generates up to 120 light pulses p/m, which is two times faster than standard IPL devices. And the gliding technique speeds up treatment of large zones such as your legs our arms.
Why choose Infinity Fast over other IPL devices?
The Infinity Fast hair removal device stands out
from other IPL devices for different reasons. Reason number one being the fast treatments combined with the patented galvanic energy.
1. Ultra-Fast Treatment Time
With nonstop pulses at lower energy levels (1-1.5 seconds between flashes), it ensures quick and efficient treatments, making full-body hair removal much faster than many competitors.
2. 600K Flashes
Unlike many IPL devices with a limited number of flashes, the Infinity Fast offers 600K light pulses, what sets you up for a lifetime, so you never have to worry about running out of treatments.
3. eHPL™ Technology for Better Results
Infinity Fast features innovative and patented technology: enhanced Home Pulsed Light (eHPL™) combines galvanic energy and optical energy. This opens pores before each flash, helping light penetrate deeper for faster, longer-lasting hair reduction.
4. Corded Design for Continuous Power
No need to pause for recharging—unlike battery-operated IPL devices, the Infinity Fast delivers uninterrupted treatments.
Why choose eHPL over other hair removal methods?
The eHPL-technology from Infinity Fast offers a complete solution and long-lasting results without the hassle, high costs, or discomfort of other methods:
- Shaving only cuts at the surface, meaning stubble returns in days.
- Waxing rips hair out from the root, but at the cost of pain, irritation, and ingrown hairs.
- Standard IPL devices rely on optical energy alone, while Infinity Fast combines optical and galvanic energy to open pores and target follicles more effectively, all with lower energy levels.
- Professional laser* treatments can deliver lasting results, but they come with a hefty price tag for multiple sessions.
*Is IPL the same as laser?
Contrary to popular belief, IPL (specifically eHPL in our case) is not a laser. While both use light to treat the skin, IPL emits multiple wavelengths in quick flashes, whereas lasers use a focused beam. This makes IPL less intense and more versatile. IPL can cover larger areas, offers faster recovery times, has a lower risk of complications, and, not least, comes at a much lower cost.
Does IPL really remove hair permanently?
A common misconception is that "permanent results" mean hair will never grow back.
Our bodies have billions of hair follicles, many of which are dormant and can become active due to factors like pregnancy, menopause, or medication. This can make it seem like hair is returning, but it's actually new hair growing.
While treatments prevent regrowth, they can't stop new hair from forming. Just like professional treatments, you’ll need follow-ups. But the beauty of owning a hair removal device at home is that you have it for life, ready to touch up those spots whenever you need.
What if you don't see immediate results?
Everyone's hair growth cycle is different. Your hair follicles go through three different phases: anagen (growth), catagen (transition), and telogen (resting). The anagen phase is the only stage where treatments can deliver permanent results.
Since you can’t see which phase your follicles are in from the surface, consistent use is essential. Hair cycles through these phases over 2 to 6 months, so regular treatments help catch more hairs in the anagen phase.
Is the Infinity Fast hair removal device safe?
eHPL technology from Infinity Fast provides a safer experience with lower energy levels, delivering long-term hair removal results at a fraction of the energy level used in other lightbased hair removal devices. This is made possible by our combination of galvanic energy (opens pores gently) and optical energy (penetrates without burning your skin).
Read all about the myths vs. reality in our dedicated blog post: Does IPL hair removal hurt? Myths vs. Reality
Skin Protection
Light-based hair removal isn't suitable for tanned and dark skin, but our built-in skin tone sensor adjusts energy levels for safety. It checks your skin tone before and during treatment, reducing risk by lowering energy when needed. By using lower energy, we reduce the risk of harm or complications, ensuring your safety.
Additionally, the treatment surface is recessed inside the device to prevent direct contact with your skin.
Eye Protection
No special eyewear is required. Our device includes an eye protection feature: flashes only emit when the treatment surface is in contact with your skin, keeping your eyes safe during use.
How do you choose the right energy level?
Infinity Fast hair removal device is equipped with a built-in skin sensor and has 5 energy levels (1 the lowest, 5 the highest). The energy level determines the intensity of the light pulse projected on your skin during use.
- When the device is turned on, the energy level is set to level 1 automatically.
- Each press increases the energy level. Follow the skin color chart when selecting energy levels.
- If no pulse occurs and the indicator blinks rapidly, your skin tone may be too dark for safe use.
You can do a spot test on each part of the body you wish to treat. A spot test checks that the skin color is suitable for treatment, and that you know which energy level is comfortable for the area you are treating.
For more detailed usage and safety instructions, consult our manual.
How often should I use the Infinity Fast IPL Hair Removal device?
We recommend treating once every two weeks for the first two months. This schedule works for most people, though those with faster hair growth may benefit from more frequent treatments.
After the first two months, most people will start to see results, often as quickly as two or three sessions. What you’ll notice is that hair growth slows down, and you might even see bald patches in the treated areas, which indicates the treatment is working. Once you enter maintenance mode, you can treat monthly or as needed. It’s important to stick to this schedule, as skipping treatments can cause dormant hair to resurface, making it seem like hair is growing back, when in fact it’s new hair emerging.
Why should you shave before IPL?
Make sure to shave before your treatment—that's a common myth we want to clear up.
Some salons recommend leaving a bit of stubble, but that's because their devices operate at higher energy levels, and it helps the technician to see the treatment area. With our device, hair should be completely removed beforehand for the best results. Users who left hair on the skin weren’t seeing optimal results.
Do not wax, tweeze or use depilatory creams as these methods may detach the root leaving nothing left to treat. Shaving gets rid of the hair on the surface of the skin but keeps the root intact; when the IPL finds the root, it’s disabled and won’t grow back.
When do you start your hair removal treatment?
Treatments can be started anytime, but the best time is in the fall or winter since sun exposure should be avoided during sessions. Start now, and by the time spring and summer arrive, your skin will be silky smooth - leaving you with only one thing to worry about: planning your next beach trip!
Why shouldn't you use IPL when you've been in the sun?
For your safety, we recommend avoiding the use of IPL after sun exposure. Sun exposure increases melanin levels and these higher melanin levels can make your skin more vulnerable to light-based hair removal methods. To minimize risks, avoid sun exposure for 4 weeks before and 2 weeks after your treatment.
To get the best results, we suggest starting your treatments in the fall or winter, so you can enjoy clean, healthy, and smooth skin by summer. If you prefer to continue treatment in summer, focus on areas not exposed to the sun, like underarms.
Can you use the IPL device when pregnant?
We advise you not to use our hair removal devices when pregnant or nursing, for the simple reason that we have not tested the devices on pregnant or nursing women. Because our hair removal devices are medical devices we exclude pregnant or nursing women from our test panel.
For more information on which medical conditions prevent you from using the device, be sure to consult our manual.
Can you use the IPL device on pubic hair?
You can safely treat your bikini line with your IPL hair removal device but we do not recommend use on the genitals or nipples. These areas are darker and more sensitive and may be more prone to discomfort or adverse reactions.
Can you use the IPL device on tattoos?
You should not treat on tattoos, large dark moles or permanent makeup as the IPL light is attracted to pigment and may cause discomfort or adverse reactions. We suggest using white medical tape to cover these areas and carefully working around them for safe hair removal.

FAQ
-
What is Silk’n Infinity Fast?
Silk’n Infinity Fast is a light based hair removal device. It’s able to reduce unwanted hair on the body and face permanently with its eHPL™ technology. This is a new technology to remove unwanted hair and works with Galvanic and Optical Energy.
-
How does eHPL™ technology work?
eHPL™ technology = Galvanic Energy + Optical Energy. These energies are emitted by the device simultaneously, but each has a distinct function. The Galvanic Energy opens the pores, ensuring that the Optical Energy has easy access to the hair follicles. The Optical Energy is absorbed by the hair shaft and provides permanent hair reduction, quickly and efficiently. After your treatment, take advantage of your skin's open pores by applying a nourishing body lotion that will absorb deeply, leaving you with beautifully smooth skin.
-
How do I activate eHPL™ technology?
eHPL™ technology is emitted from the device in the form of a light pulse. This is achieved in a very special way: the energy is delivered through an electrode plate located near the treatment area at the rear of the device. To activate eHPL™ technology, all you have to do is lightly touch the electrode plate with your fingers and hold the device on the desired treatment area at the same time. Hold the device with one hand, with your fingers touching both the front (the light pulse button) and the back (the electrode plate). When you press the light pulse button, the pulses of eHPL™ technology (Galvanic and Optical Energy) are automatically emitted to the treatment surface (the glass pane) in order to remove hairs. You can also watch the video on the product page of this website to see the technology in action.
-
Is the Silk'n Infinity Fast suitable for everyone?
The Silk'n Infinity Fast is suitable for both women and men. New about the Silk'n Infinity Fast system is that it is suitable for nearly all skin colors and almost all hair colors. For more details, please view the Hair and Skin Color chart on our website. You can also find this chart on each packaging. This device is not designed for everyone's condition, therefore please read the contraindications in the user manual in their entirety before starting treatments.
-
Is it effective on white, grey, red or blonde hairs?
The Infinity Fast is most suitable for hair colors that contain melanin, to absorb the light energy. It is least suitable for very blond, red, grey, or white hairs.
-
Can I treat myself if I have suntanned skin or after exposure to the sun?
The lowest energy level (1) is designed for safe use even aftersun exposure. If you use energy levels 2-5, avoid further exposure to the sun for 4 weeks before and 2 weeks after your treatment. This applies to all skin types, even those that don't seem to tan quickly. We don't advise it, but if you have to go out in the sun after a treatment, be sure to apply sunscreen SPF30 or higher to the treated area. Do this for 2 weeks after a treatment.
-
On which areas of the body can Silk'n Infinity Fast be used?
In general, the Silk'n Infinity Fast can be used on the body and face, except for the eye area, nipples, and genitals. For all exceptions to the rule due to skin conditions and/or diseases, please read the manual carefully (can be found online and in the package of the product).
-
Is it safe?
With Silk’n safety comes first. eHPL™ technology is able to achieve permanent hair reduction results at a fraction of the energy level used in professional light-based hair removal equipment. The low energy used in Silk’n hair removal devices reduces its potential to cause harm or complications, and contributes to your overall safety.
-
Does the treatment hurt?
Most users report no pain at all or just feeling a slight sensation of warmth and tingling when a light pulse is emitted. Users with thicker and darker hairs may feel slightly more discomfort, but this discomfort subsides once the hair removal session is completed. For your convenience, this device has five energy levels that can be set according to sensitivity and tolerance. It is important that you don't treat the same area of skin more than once per hair removal session as this increases the likelihood of adverse effects. It is also recommended to do a spot test before you treat a specific part of your body, to find the energy level that i most comfortable for your skin.
-
What is the Skin Colour Sensor?
This is a built-in safety sensor which stops the device from emitting a light pulse if your skin tone is too dark for treatment. The sensor ensures that your skin is being protected.
-
How long does a treatment take?
The time can vary depending on the area of the body that is treated. Do you want to remove hair quickly? Silk’n Infinity Fast can produce individual light pulses at automatic intervals. This Gliding method is unique, ultra-fast and you can simply glide the device over your skin.
-
How often should I use it?
Typical hair removal plan during a full hair growth cycle:
Treatments 1-4 – plan two weeks apart
Treatments 5-7 – plan four weeks apart
Treatments 8 + – treat as needed, until desired results are achieved.
Maintenance: from time to time some upkeep may be needed if growth is still visible. -
Why doesn't the device emit a light pulse sometimes?
To ensure accurate readings and proper functioning of the treatment window and skin color sensor, please make sure they are fully flush against the skin. If you do not see a pulse emitted, please also ensure you are not working under bright lights that may cast shadows on the treatment area, as this can interfere with the sensor's operation.
Contact our Customer Care team if you continue to have concerns. -
For how long should I continue treatment?
A typical full hair growth cycle may take 18-24 months. During this time multiple sessions are required in order to achieve permanent hair reduction. The duration of hair removal sessions varies per person according to their body area, hair colour and how the device is used.
-
When can I expect results?
Most users report a change in hair growth within 3 or 4 treatments. However, as with any light-based or laser hair removal device, results are not immediate. In fact, hair may sometimes appear to be growing back after a hair removal session, but typically after two weeks many of these hairs will simply fall out. Additionally, hair grows in three different stages and only hairs in an active growth stage will be affected. Thus, hairs that are not active cannot be targeted. This is one of the main reasons why multiple sessions are required to achieve the desired result.
-
Why does it work without cartridges?
Silk'n Infinity Fast contains many light pulses - enough for many full-body treatments - no cartridges are needed. Therefore, they are not available. There is no need to ever purchase a refill, saving you even more money!
-
Can I shave between treatments?
Yes. For better results and product experience it is recommended to shave before and between treatments. We do not recommend waxing, plucking or tweezing the hair out because the hair shaft will be removed and therefore cannot be treated.
-
I do not want to shave my face, what can I do?
If you do not wish to shave your face, we suggest using a trimmer or small cosmetic scissors to clip the hair as close as possible to the surface of the skin.
-
Why is my hair growing, even though I treated it a week ago?
It is quite common for hair to appear as if it is still growing up to two weeks after a hair removal session. This process is known as “ejection”, and after about two weeks you’ll see that these hairs simply fall out. Please note, do not pull out the treated hairs – just let them fall out naturally.
It is also possible that some hairs, due to missed application or different stages of growth, were not affected by previous treatments. These hairs will be treated in follow-up sessions, hence the reason multiple hair removal sessions are required to achieve the best results. -
At what age can it be used?
The Silk'n Infinity Fast is recommended for use by adults. For adolescents, we advise starting treatment post-puberty and under adult supervision.
-
Am I allowed to use this device when I am pregnant or nursing?
No, you are not allowed to use this device when your are pregnant or nursing.
